This project is linking Rumaila Investment Station and Dhi-Qar combined cycle to enhance electrical connection, system stability, and reduce congestion. Basra and Dhi Qar will connect to the existing 400 kV line for maintenance flexibility.

A single circuit links Shat Al-Basra gas station to Faw 400 kV, and redirecting Shatt Al-Basra power plant’s load, with increasing production load, and enhancing reliability and stability in Basra Governorate, which is one of the most significant power plants in the Basra Governorate.

The single OHTL circuit enhances reliability for Hartha Thermal Station 400 kW, supplying the strategic Qurna transmission station in Basra. This boosts the governorate’s capacity and ensures reliable power to oil fields, specifically the West Qurna and Majnoon oil fields.

The new OHTL South Nasiriyah 400kV – Rumaila combined cycle 400 kV is a vital strategic transmission line enhancing reliability, stability, and availability in southern Iraq.
