Project Overview:
The KEPPT Ajeel Integrated Project, officially launched on January 6, 2025, is a landmark initiative transforming Iraq’s energy landscape. Spearheaded by KEPPT under the guidance of KAR Electrical Power Production Trading FZE, the project is centered around the strategic development of the Ajeel Field in the Salah al-Din Governorate. This ambitious venture integrates oil, gas, and renewable energy resources, showcasing a model of innovation and sustainability in Iraq’s energy sector.
Project Scope:
With an investment of USD 3 billion, the Ajeel Integrated Project is designed to advance Iraq’s energy independence and infrastructure through:
- Oil Reservoir Development: Sustainable extraction from proven reserves.
- Gas Extraction Facilities: Processing 300 MMSCFD of gas for electricity generation.
- Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) Power Plant: A cutting-edge 1,500 MW facility, seamlessly connected to Iraq’s national grid.
- Solar Energy Integration: A 200 MW solar power station for eco-friendly operations.
